# Guided path and Assist (concept)

IA §8 **D11** (guided journey) and **D12** (HITL AI assist); see `../../guided-and-assist.md`. Thin concept inside the existing prototype. No new required fields, no new modules, no LLM calls.

## What is built
- `nextStep(deal)` / `homeNext()` in `prototype.js`: one next step derived from the milestone, core fields still `[PENDING]`, documents, acceptance and settlement. Wraps the existing `nextAction()`. Checks `gate()` so VIEWER / OPERATIONS / non-signatory / concierge-outside-proxy do not get a false “Do this now”.
- **Home**: a Next step card, plus a "Do this" / "Open" button on each row under *Needs your action*.
- **Deal Overview**: Guide card with a four-stage checklist, a primary button, and "I don't know: ask CASEAN". Concierge outside proxy is told to enter Proxy Mode (COMPLIANCE is told they have no proxy). The card says Landed Cost and Trade Sheet are optional for the Milestone 1 path.
- **Assist** (top bar): "What should I do next?" (answers from `nextStep`), and "paste an email/WhatsApp" which proposes a terms diff for the deal you are viewing. Accept asks for confirmation, applies the change like a manual terms edit (acceptances cleared, freeze revoked; **INQUIRY → NEGOTIATING** when price or Incoterm is set), and logs "AI draft accepted" on Activity.

## Honest limits
- The draft is regex matching on price, quantity, Incoterm and payment terms. It is labelled CONCEPT in the UI.
- It never invents freight, insurance, duty, HS codes, tier, signing or locking. Amounts next to freight/insurance/duty words are skipped so a freight line cannot become the unit price. A confirmed price/Incoterm moves INQUIRY→NEGOTIATING like a manual edit — the Assist never advances milestones by itself.
- `CAD 780/MT` is treated as currency, not “cash against documents”, unless the text also says cash-against-documents.
- Ask CASEAN: VIEWER cannot post. Shared Activity only records that help was requested — not the question text. Product intent: private to the requesting org + CASEAN; this prototype still writes a short shared Activity stub so the demo has something to show.
- Ask CASEAN logs no real queue item.
- Pending Assist proposals clear when you leave the deal or switch shell; Accept rebuilds the diff from the current draft text before applying.
